St. Mary’s Catholic Church hosted their 22nd annual Polish Heritage Festival on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Parish Activity Center on the church grounds in Brenham, Texas. At 11 am, a delicious Polish meal was served to the waiting crowd. The meal included baked ham, kielbasa, rosół z kury, czarnina, kiszona kapusta, potatoes and green beans along with delicious desserts and ice tea, soft drinks and cold piwo to drink.
After the meal, take home food to go was available in the kitchen, including traditional Polish dishes such as pierogi, kiszka, kielbasa, kluski and soups. Inside the parish hall there was a grocery booth, cake booth and a country store and outside there was a bouncy house, face painting and lots of other fun activities for the kids.
During the meal, Daniel Cendalski and his band, Daniel and the Country Boys entertained the crowd with a mix of old time Polish and Country music. At 1:00 pm the live auction started as the crowd bid on homemade goodies, quilts, furniture and other items. The raffle drawing with lots of nice prizes was held after the acution ended and then there was more music by Steven Marshall and Anthony Moreno.
