Answer the following question in the comment box below for your chance to win.
What is your favorite Polish food?
Duck blood soup
Stuffed Cabbage, no wait… perogi… glumpki…. no perogi LOL
While not my favorite…..Czarnina reminds me of my grandmother. It was always available at the holidays celebrated at her house when I was a kid. All in all, pretty much everything…….honestly, what is not to like? Food is a necessity and we have the privilege of the best of the best “POLISH”!!! ~~ sausage ~~ pierogi ~~ golabki ~~ barszcz ~~ sauerkraut~~you might as well say…..”Jedzcie, pijcie i popuszczajcie pasa” … cause there is just too much to list!!! Na Zdrowie (we can’t forget the drinks ya know!!)
czarnina, golabki, pierogi, domowym makaronem
perogi and gwumpki
czarnina and potato ans cheese pierogi
As a starter: barsz z uszkami (sort of pierogi with mushrooms). A must for Christmas Eve ‘Wigilia’.
Main: schabowy z ziemniakami i kapusta gotowana(pork chops, mash potatoes and cabbage).
Dessert: Easter ‘Mazurek’. Cake made with old style ‘masa kaimakowa’ . But it needs to be done as I mentioned ‘old style’ (not milk from the can heated!!!). It’s something similar to Creme Fraiche, but you have to spend hours preparing it and make sure it does not ‘escape’ from the pot. Along with that you put all sort of nuts, raisins, coconut, almonds…mmmmmm I am hungry now, thanks guys! But at least I got some nice bigos in the fridge:-)
Jedno would be Bigos (Hunters Stew – empty out your refrigerator),
then comes Kielbassa, Golabki, Krokiety, Pierogi, Rosol, & Czarnina.
And lets not forget to wash it down with Piwo!
deciding whether to have pierogi or cabbage rolls…….ah both of course!!! There is one thing I miss since I left Cleveland, Ohio and my dad passed away is Rice Sausage…..anyone heard of this?
Dear Stanja, Rice Sausage;do you have KASZANKA in mind?
look here, is it it? (sorry for the long link)

love cabbage rolls.
Paczki. My grandmother made them everytime we came to visit. She would pinch off homemade dough, fry it and then roll it in sugar. Yummy. I eat a dozen of them every year at St. Mary’s Polish Festival in Brenham. Everything else is second.
placki ziemniaczane and sos grzybowy or sour cream ….

My favorite entree is Golabki and the most wonderful dessert is Nalesniki, yum yum!

Patato paczki and Kielbasa are the best.
I go for the potato pancakes.
Perogies
Polish fudge…These are “krowki,” candies that come in a yellow and white wrapper with a cow on it. Krowki are very different from regular fudge; more buttery and creamy.
Pierogi!
i don’t know i have never tried polish food …so i really need to win the prize so i can tell you
Pierogis!
My favorite food was something Momma called “kapusta.” I don’t know if I spelled that right, or if that is even the right name for it. It was shredded, boiled cabbage, blended into boiled, mashed potatoes, to which she added milk, butter, and vinegar. It was so good! Unfortunately, I can’t cook like my Momma.
one more dish “Bigos”
